Is It Possible to Launch Logistics Center Operations in 4 Weeks?

DSV - Global Transport and Logistics has signed an agreement with Gourmet Foods to provide comprehensive contract logistics and distribution services. The partners proved that in the world of logistics, nothing is impossible. The operator and the client needed just four weeks to complete full integration and begin operations.

Logistics Operator Urgently Needed

Gourmet Foods, the importer and official distributor of premium food products such as Dilmah teas, Saquella coffee, and Fabbri syrups, decided to change its logistics operations model. The company was looking for a logistics partner that could manage not only comprehensive warehouse logistics but also the distribution of products to retail locations across Poland. The biggest challenge was time - the future operator had to commit to having the new logistics center ready for operation within four weeks of signing the agreement.

Due to the client’s criteria, we proposed to locate the logistics center in an existing multi-client DSV - Global Transport and Logistics warehouse in Kampinos. This facility is specialized in handling FMCG goods. The know-how of our employees was crucial in meeting Gourmet Foods’ expectations - said Krzysztof Wójcik, Business Development Manager at DSV - Global Transport and Logistics. - The trust placed in us by our partner was key to a smooth implementation process, and I would like to express my appreciation and thanks to the entire Gourmet Foods team for their cooperation and dedication to the project.

A key success factor during project implementation was the collaborative, partnership-based approach between the two parties. Gourmet Foods trusted the operator's long-standing experience in transport services for the food sector. Thanks to synergy between the transport and warehouse service teams, targets related to quality, timeliness, and order completeness were successfully achieved.

I’m very proud of how our cooperation has evolved, based on transparent communication and close collaboration. I have no doubt that these factors enabled us to develop logistics solutions that provided real support to Gourmet Foods at a time when their volume significantly increased. It’s a pleasure to accompany the client on their journey to achieving their business goals - added Marta Trojecka, Senior Key Account Manager at DSV.

DSV Supports Gourmet Foods' Growth in eCommerce

When starting its cooperation with DSV, Gourmet Foods entrusted the operator’s team with the responsibility of building support processes for its digital sales channels.

The pace of development at Gourmet Foods is tremendous. We’re proud to be part of that journey. We continuously work on improving our solutions, which leads to increasing process efficiency. Importantly, all innovations are introduced through dialogue between Gourmet Foods representatives and the members of our operations team, who work daily with the products in the warehouse and share their insights. Thanks to this truly collaborative partnership, we quickly achieved operational efficiency that genuinely supports Gourmet Foods in maximizing its potential during Q4. This is the peak sales period for any industry and comes with specific challenges related to maintaining the continuity of eCommerce supply chains.
– said Olga Durlej, Branch Manager, DSV.

Eco-Friendly Solutions for Gourmet Foods

In today’s world, beyond business goals, an important element of corporate growth strategies is implementing actions to reduce environmental impact. DSV - Global Transport and Logistics, as one of the leaders of the green transition in the TSL sector, recommended solutions at the client's request that genuinely help reduce the carbon footprint generated throughout the supply chain.

Eco-friendly initiatives and sustainable development are part of the growth strategy for both our brand and the brands we distribute in the Polish market. Consumers and business partners are increasingly focused on the environmental impact of the products they order. That’s why we asked DSV to develop proposals for solutions that could make our supply chain more “green,” including aspects such as warehouse operations, distribution, and eCommerce sales. Along with the start of operations at the new location, we also launched a pilot program with DSV to test new packaging solutions.
said Adam Kostrzewski, Director of Logistics and Sales Operations at Gourmet Foods.
