Polregio expands its fleet

Polregio has signed a contract to purchase five diesel multiple units, adding used LINT and TALENT sets to its rolling stock. The units will undergo overhaul, component replacement and localisation before deployment. Three LINT41 units will enter service in late 2026, with two TALENT sets following about six months later. The supplier is Public Transport Service, which has already received the first units at its Paterek facility.

The project aims to boost fleet reliability and service quality on regional diesel routes. The trains will operate in Wielkopolskie and Lubuskie, including the Kostrzyn–Krzyż and Krzyż–Piła–Chojnice lines. Each unit offers capacity for over 200 passengers, at least 120 seated, space for four bikes, air conditioning, CCTV, a passenger information system and accessibility features: ramps, wheelchair spaces and an adapted toilet with a baby-changing table.

The purchase is part of Polregio’s wider fleet renewal strategy. The operator is also procuring additional used DMUs for Warmia and Mazury and expanding its electric fleet, including recently contracted EMUs for Małopolskie and new zero-emission sets co-funded for Świętokrzyskie and Warmia–Mazury.
