Miguel Iglesias takes over regional management of France, Italy, Portugal and Spain.
With effect from 1 April 2025, Miguel Iglesias has become Sales Director for Schmitz Cargobull's Southwest Europe sales region. This is in addition to his role as Country Manager for Spain. In his new position, he reports to Ralph Kleideiter, Schmitz Cargobull AG Chief Sales Officer, and leads a team consisting of Francois Jolys, Country Manager France; Mirco Marraccini, Country Manager Italy; and José Botas, Country Manager Portugal. He and his team will continue to drive forward and expand sales activities and business development in Southwest Europe.
“We are delighted to welcome Miguel Iglesias in his new role as Sales Director for Southwest Europe. With 25 years of experience in leading sales positions at Schmitz Cargobull, his extensive industry knowledge and great commitment have played a major role in establishing Schmitz Cargobull as the market leader in Spain. We are confident that he will continue this success together with the country managers in France, Italy and Portugal,” says Kleideiter.
Iglesias has had an impressive career and built up his expertise in the trailer industry. He began it as Export Manager at the trailer and body manufacturer Mirofret in 1995. In 2000, he moved to Schmitz Cargobull, where he successfully implemented sales and marketing strategies as Sales Director of the Spanish subsidiary Schmitz Cargobull Ibérica. In 2008, he took over the role of Country Manager in Spain and managed the sales team for new and used vehicles, as well as the marketing and after-sales division. He will continue to perform these tasks in his new role as Sales Director Southwest Europe.
To be able to react flexibly to customer requirements and changing market conditions in Southwest Europe, Schmitz Cargobull built its first plant, in Zaragoza, in 2002. In 2022, a new production plant with a capacity of 60 vehicles per day was put into operation. Schmitz Cargobull employs more than 250 staff at the site and manufactures S.CS curtainsiders, S.KO refrigerated semi-trailers, S.BO dry-freight trailers and S.KI tipper trailers for the Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian and African markets.
The strategic location and state-of-the-art equipment within the assembly production plant offer considerable advantages to customers in Southwest Europe. They benefit not only from shorter delivery times and costs, but also from individual, customer-specific transport solutions to meet the requirements of a dynamic market.
