Specialists met in Warsaw

Nearly one hundred high-level supply chain security specialists, representing 10 countries, participated in the Technology Asset Protection Association (TAPA) conference in Warsaw on June 23rd and 24th.

This is an international organization dealing with broadly defined supply security in the high-tech industry. Established in the USA in 1997 (in Europe since 1999), TAPA brings together over 500 entities from around the world, represented by specialists responsible for supply security. The organization’s goal is to reduce losses in the production, transport, and distribution of high-tech products and to combat threats to the high-tech industry. This was the first TAPA conference in Poland. The meeting was sponsored by the Polish branch of TNT Express.

– Conference participants appreciate the growing economic importance of our country for the entire region – says Robert Mianowski, General Manager of TNT Express Poland. – Ensuring the security of transported goods is one of the industry’s priorities.

A special guest of TNT Express was Prof. Witold Orłowski, head of the team of economic advisors to the President of the Republic of Poland, who in his speech introduced the foreign conference guests to the changes in Poland and the region after integration with the European Union.

– Poland’s accession to the EU has created favorable conditions for long-term growth. This fact may be the culmination of a long, sometimes painful process of economic transformation. Full integration with the EU is a natural path of development for Poland – the most important will be the long-term effects of integration – said Prof. Witold Orłowski.
