DHL Solutions will take over the distribution of general cargo and partial loads for KarstadtQuelle AG. The Federal Cartel Office has issued a decision on the unconditional takeover, which both partners worked out in January and which is to come into effect on July 1 of this year.
As of April 1 of this year, DHL, part of Deutsche Post AG, took over distribution for the Karstadt warehouse at the Unna distribution center. – We are very pleased with the positive decision of the Cartel Office – said Frank Appel, member of the Board of Management at Deutsche Post World Net responsible for logistics. – Now we can move forward with the integration of both logistics systems within our structures.
Warehouse logistics and the distribution of general cargo and partial loads for the two groups, Quelle and Neckermann, which will be handled by DHL Solutions in the future, represent sales of approximately EUR 500 million. With a 10-year contract, this amounts to EUR 5 billion.
