For several weeks, Schenker coordinated the delivery of equipment for FIFA and media needs at the FIFA Confederations Cup stadiums in Cologne, Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Leipzig, and Hanover.
Schenker organized the distribution of approximately 1,000 TV monitors for installation at the FIFA Confederations Cup stadiums, and 400 laptops for the offices of local organizing committees and media centers. The service even included transporting the luggage of all teams participating in the event between the five Cup stadiums and hotels. In supervising the flow of goods to the stadiums, Schenker utilized experience gained from handling logistics for numerous sporting events around the world. Schenker employees are already working in the logistics department of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee.
