Kuehne + Nagel is introducing three new door-to-door air freight products: KN Express, KN Expert, and KN Extend. KN Express ensures delivery within 1-3 days, KN Expert is reserved for shipments with a delivery time of 3 to 5 days, and KN Extend for over 5 days. The implementation of these options is intended to guarantee supply chain transparency for customers and improve communication between the operator and the client. At the beginning of July, the new product will enter the testing phase. KN Express, KN Extend, and KN Expert will be tested on 8 selected international routes (Atlanta, Chicago, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Paris, London, Nuremberg, Stuttgart). After the testing period, the new KN services will be implemented on all KN air routes worldwide (KN has 300 air freight branches globally).
The system’s operation is based on so-called shipment maps. For every shipment organized by Kuehne + Nagel, individual maps are generated, specifying the exact time of the shipment at each stage of transport. Each shipment is electronically monitored and checked against a pre-defined map. Any resulting deviations are monitored and corrected. Shipment maps are recorded and visible in the track and trace system and in the KN Login system. Customers have Internet access to data on the current and historical status of the shipment.
