DHL has signed a contract to manage Ford Motor Indonesia’s nationwide warehousing and distribution operations for automotive spare parts and accessories. The contract, initially concluded for a period of two years, will significantly improve Ford Motor Indonesia’s ability to deliver high-quality spare parts to customers through a nationwide network covering 15 Ford Superstores dealerships.
Ford Motor expects that thanks to DHL’s proven supply chain management skills and resources, it will be possible to achieve significant improvements in productivity and efficiency, as well as increased savings. The initial phase of the contract will include a comprehensive analysis and review of Ford Motor’s current warehousing and distribution operations, as well as an assessment of processes and relationships with third-party suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). DHL will also take responsibility for managing Ford Motor’s warehousing and distribution operations at a 2,000 sqm warehouse located in Sunter, North Jakarta. Based on the Strategic Parts Center (SPC) model developed by DHL, which includes inventory management, warehousing, and urgent delivery services, the warehouse will be managed by a dedicated team of 20 DHL employees. SPC centers are a key element of DHL’s express service network in Indonesia and provide a 4-hour delivery turnaround time from the moment an order is placed.
