The Fraunhofer Institute (IML) has recently launched an electronic logistics platform called industrial logistics. According to the creators of the new solution, the primary goal of the platform is to collect information about the logistics market as well as the supply and demand for logistics services in Germany. Regardless of this, the system also has the potential to become a forum for establishing contacts between logistics operators and their potential clients. The results of research conducted by IML will be used to develop ongoing outsourcing reports. Joining the system will allow logistics operators to present the spectrum of services they provide, while service recipients will have a full overview of the offer, and thus a professional tool facilitating the search for a suitable business partner.
