The issues surrounding contracts concluded via electronic means of distance communication have been recognized for a long time. In particular, the need to regulate the identification sphere of the authors of declarations of intent made in this manner was noted.
The book is an attempt to discuss the concept of an electronic contract, in particular by indicating possible classification criteria.
Detailed considerations concern the following issues: electronic declarations of intent, the conclusion of electronic contracts, the electronic
form of legal transactions, electronic money as the subject of a monetary performance, electronic contracts in Community law
and in selected countries, as well as conflict-of-law issues regarding electronic contracts.
