On October 19th and 20th, the Warsaw Logistics Championships 2007 will take place at the Faculty of Transport of the Warsaw University of Technology, organized by the Student Government of the Warsaw University of Technology in cooperation with the Student Circle of Applied Logistics at the Faculty of Transport of the Warsaw University of Technology.
“Warsaw Logistics Championships 2007” is an event setting a new direction for student logistics conferences. – We are breaking with the existing template of conferences: “arrival – coffee – talk – departure” – the organizers explain – We are challenging logistics students from the best universities in Poland, who in the future will be the most valuable and sought-after staff in the Transport-Forwarding-Logistics industry.
The best logistics students from all over Poland will be tasked with managing a virtual TSL industry company during the two-day meeting. Their goal will be to fulfill transport orders and design a supply chain for a newly opened enterprise. The teams’ work will be continuously supervised and evaluated by a committee composed of experts and academic staff.
– Our goal is to support the practical application of students’ knowledge and skills in solving transport and logistics issues. This project also aims to identify future TSL leaders – an elite of ambitious and talented logisticians whose unique skills will positively influence the development of the entire industry in Poland and the world. We want the new direction of logistics events set by the “Warsaw Logistics Championships 2007” to provide students with easier and fuller access to the best TSL industry companies – the organizers say.
The first day of the championships will be spent solving a case study. – Together with our experts, we are constantly refining the prepared tasks. We already know it won’t be easy, but we are trying to make it as realistic as possible – the organizers claim.
The second day is time for sponsors, for presentations of the most interesting problems they have encountered during their practice, and a bit of entertainment. A competition called Logistics Strongmen is planned, in which participants will have the opportunity to prove themselves in, among other things, pulling a tractor and racing with pallet trucks.
