Transporeon GmbH & Co. KG, a European company specializing in software for transport logistics, has recently established its representative office in Poland and Italy.
Created by Transporeon and currently available in eight languages, the TISYS software enables the electronic transmission of information regarding transport orders between the shipper and carriers via a closed, internet-based communication platform. This allows for simplifying the transmission of transport orders, reducing “empty kilometers” by up to 9 percent, and consequently significantly lowering transport logistics costs.
Peter Förster, co-founder and board member of Transporeon, sees a great opportunity for the TISYS platform in the Polish and Italian markets: – In Italy, in March 2006, the “Tariffa a forcella”, which guaranteed freight forwarders minimum transport rates, was abolished. We are counting on a similar development here as in Germany in 1993, when the law abolishing tariffs came into effect. Carriers will be forced to organize better in order to reduce “empty kilometers” and remain competitive. In Poland, we are facing the problem of a very poorly developed infrastructure; additionally, one must reckon with the possibility of introducing road tolls. Freight forwarders and carriers will soon face the same difficulties that are known in Western Europe – and this under conditions of a much worse network of communication routes.
