As in previous editions, the key factors will be: fuel-efficient driving skills, which are important for economic and environmental reasons (the lower the fuel consumption, the lower the CO2 emissions), driving techniques that do not pose a threat to other road users, proper vehicle loading to ensure the safety of transported goods, and the quality of customer service during parcel collection and delivery. There will also be speed tests.
Any courier can take part in the competition. The selection of the Polish representative will begin with regional eliminations. Each of the four regions will select three couriers, from whom the best will then be chosen. The final selection will be made by a draw: a Polish representative and a reserve driver will be drawn from the final four.
The competition will take place on September 29 and 30 in the United Kingdom, near Birmingham. Couriers from the United States, Brazil, China, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Italy, the Benelux countries, and the United Arab Emirates have announced their participation. The Poles will be the only representatives from Eastern European countries. Peter Bakker, CEO of TNT, will be cheering on the couriers.
The Courier of the Year competition is organized to shape and reward the proper attitude of TNT couriers on the road and in customer relations. Its goal is a significant reduction in carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere, the total elimination of disastrous car accidents involving our couriers, a significant reduction in minor collisions, and an increase in the level of customer service quality.
The Drive Me Challenge courier competition is one of TNT’s pro-ecological initiatives implemented as part of the global corporate project Planet Me.
