TNT Express has acquired the leading Slovenian transport company, Door to Door. Until now, since 1994, TNT has been represented in Slovenia by its local agent.
Door to Door, headquartered in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, was founded in 1991 and employs over 200 people. The company manages a transshipment hub, seven warehouses, and a fleet of 119 vehicles. These resources will join the 2,400 employees, 78 warehouses, and 826 vehicles that TNT has at its disposal in Eastern European countries. The acquisition of the Slovenian company will allow for the creation of 50 jobs within the first year.
In 2004, Door to Door transported 1,200,000 domestic shipments, and the service excellence rate it achieved was 98 percent. The domestic courier services offered by Door to Door are used by companies from various industries, including automotive, technology, pharmaceutical, and printing.
