Secure your warehouse: Data security in computer systems – part 1

How dependent we are on computers and how important the data we store on them is—we usually realize this when it is already too late. This article is the beginning of a series dedicated to data protection and security in computer systems.

Although all users agree that the information on their computers is invaluable, it is rare to find someone who protects it against destruction. The situation is analogous in larger companies, where administrators fully trust the computer system they have created, not realizing the threats lurking for it. A person not taught by experience believes boundlessly in the reliability of computers, and only time shows how wrong they were. According to TANDBERG DATA, there are only two types of data: those that have been backed up and those that have NOT YET been lost.
The article comes from the magazine “Logistyka” 2002/5.
