New TNT air connection in Poland

TNT Express, a global provider of express transport services for corporate clients, has launched direct flights from Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport to the TNT International Air Hub in Liège (Belgium) using its own aircraft. Since October 1st, a British Aerospace 146-300 QT aircraft has been transporting shipments for TNT customers from the Pomeranian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, and Warmian-Masurian voivodeships. Gdańsk is the third city—after Warsaw and Katowice—where the company uses this model of jet aircraft.

The aircraft is adapted for transporting air containers: its maximum payload is 12.5 tons. The range of the machine, piloted by a two-person crew, is 1,800 km. TNT owns 21 aircraft of this type in Europe. They are characterized by low noise emission levels, which is a significant advantage of this design given strict European standards.

New TNT air connection in Poland

– We were prompted to introduce our own aircraft by the growing demand for express transport services in the region – in the last year, we recorded a double-digit percentage increase in demand for our services – says Rafał Dziura, Sales and Marketing Director at TNT Express Poland.

The Gdańsk-based aircraft operates flights five times a week – it arrives in Gdańsk at 07:35 and departs at 20:30. Previously, TNT used an aircraft with a smaller payload, flying via Malmö to Liège. The introduction of our own machine significantly improves operational capabilities across the entire region and means full flexibility regarding the dimensions of transported goods.

At the same time, TNT has modified the configuration of its Warsaw air connection, thanks to which customers sending shipments to Poland have more time to prepare them, and recipients receive them earlier. Currently, TNT Express operates three of its own air connections in Poland: from Gdańsk, Katowice, and Warsaw to the International Air Hub in Liège. Goods from Polish customers are transported not only via TNT aircraft departing from our country – shipments from the Lubusz and West Pomeranian voivodeships enter the TNT air network via the airport in Berlin.
