In logistical transport systems, techniques for moving bulk material streams are based on the so-called continuous transport method. It is designed for moving large masses of material in bulk, usually at high speeds and over long distances. Furthermore, this method allows for the fully automatic control of the bulk material flow process and is used, for example, in the transport of spoil in open-pit or underground mines, in the extraction of aggregates and mineral raw materials, in the transport of auxiliary materials and semi-finished products, or in the removal of waste products.
Equipment used in conveyor transport systems
In logistical processes of continuous movement and short-distance transport of bulk materials, a significant role is played by the selection and arrangement along the flow route of material-transporting devices, auxiliary equipment and assemblies, as well as transfer points, whose task is, among other things, to feed, slow down, or direct the moving stream of material. Devices designed for the continuous feeding of bulk material at a specific set speed are belt conveyors.
