Electronic student record books at WSL

Students of the Poznan School of Logistics (WSL) no longer have to worry about losing their student record book containing all their exam grades. They will also no longer need to stand in queues to get a credit entry from their instructor. The first logistics university in Poland is introducing electronic student record books starting this academic year, which will replace the traditional paper booklet.

Electronic student record books at WSL

– For several years, we have had the WSL-ONLINE electronic system, through which the lecturer enters grades, and the student can see how they performed on a test, colloquium, or exam on their profile. Until now, however, the student was required to obtain an entry in their “paper” record book. From this year on, that necessity will be gone. Everything will be done electronically. This is a huge convenience for students, but also a reduction in paperwork for the dean’s office – said Wojciech Zalewski, WSL spokesperson.

Such a solution will not only simplify the monitoring of student achievements but will also eliminate queues for entries, and students will no longer have to remember to bring their record book and exam card to the exam. On the other hand, student tradition and the sentiment held by older students and WSL graduates speak in favor of keeping paper record books. The university authorities have found a solution for them as well. If someone does not want to part with their paper “student diary,” they can go to the lecturer after checking their grade on the platform and ask for a traditional entry. However, the book-style record book loses its status as an obligatory document and becomes merely a commemorative record of student achievements.
