E-consumer rights

Euro-Label is a mark confirming that an e-retailer implements the rights due to consumers within the European Union. This mark may only be used by websites that have been positively verified regarding the practical implementation of the provisions of the
European Code of Conduct for e-commerce. The Code consists of 12 articles. This issue will present a description of the first six articles of the Code, their practical application, and their reference to Polish legislation.
Article 1. Company information.
This is an area often neglected even by the largest and most well-known websites. It is often narrowed down to presenting standard information about the site, as described in the Act of July 18, 2002, on the provision of services by electronic means, such as: company name, registered office address, and correspondence addresses. Meanwhile, in Polish legislation, this area is regulated by the Act of February 14, 2003, on the disclosure of economic information, which understands the above information as: the designation/name of the company; its
registered office and address; the number under which it is entered in the appropriate register for the conducted activity (along with the designation of the registration authority); tax identification number; statistical REGON number, as well as the names and surnames of persons belonging to the management bodies, commercial proxies, or company representatives, and the main subject of business activity.
Article 2. Information on personal data protection.
Ensuring protection as required by the Act of August 29, 1997, on the protection of personal data, as amended, along with implementing acts, applies not only to databases on the server serving the consumer but also very often to the sales application, which uses external cookies. It should be remembered that the content of files that may contain customer personal data must have encrypted content. Encryption also applies to the transmission of personal data.
