In the previous issue of “e-Fakty” we introduced the general topic related to electronic newsletters. In this issue, we will try to provide tips on how to properly edit a newsletter so that it interests the reader and encourages them to visit our company’s website. As a reminder, a newsletter is an electronic form of a bulletin – a magazine sent via e-mail to subscribers. This relatively new form of publication should fulfill 3 basic functions:
• inform the reader, e.g., about changes in the offer, events in the company, thereby supporting the process of shaping a positive company image
• encourage a potential customer to purchase the presented products through well-edited articles, a readable newsletter style, and its visually attractive graphic design
• remind the customer of the company’s existence on the Internet and encourage them to visit the website, where they will find, among other things, detailed information about the current offer.
Electronic newsletters are an effective and low-cost type of promotion. They enable efficient information flow using new technologies. They allow for reaching the recipient’s personal e-mail inbox directly with extensive content quickly. An additional advantage of this type of publication is the fact that the sender can immediately verify the effectiveness of the dedicated newsletter. Detailed statistics can present the image of penetration of individual resources on the site. They constitute a tool for measuring the effectiveness of distributed electronic magazines, which in turn provides the possibility of an automatic response to the recipients’ expectations.
