The sixth and final test Boeing 787 Dreamliner is currently in the final phase of assembly at the Everett factory. The aircraft, designated ZA006, will be powered by GEnx engines manufactured by General Electric.
Work on the entire 787 fleet is proceeding according to schedule. The first test aircraft, ZA001, is already in the stage of final cosmetic touch-ups before the completion of factory tests. The ZA002 aircraft is also in the final phase of production, with its structural tests having begun at the end of February. Advanced work is also underway on aircraft ZA003, ZA004, and ZA005.
In total, there are already 31 Dreamliners on the production lines. Boeing has received 878 orders for the 787 Dreamliner aircraft from 57 customers to date.
The test flight of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is scheduled for the second quarter of 2009.
