Wincanton has completed testing of an automatic goods identification system using RF technology at its warehouse in Lesznowola near Piaseczno. Implementation is currently underway. Operations using the new system are already being performed for the first client.
The new system, using radio terminals, will enable a significant increase in the level of services provided by the company at the Lesznowola warehouse. The entire process of handling goods in the warehouse is carried out by scanning barcodes of items, batches, quantities, or locations in the warehouse. This significantly speeds up work. Importantly, the system reduces the possibility of errors to a minimum and allows for increased customer service efficiency.
– “RF terminals allow the warehouse worker to work without documents. They receive all necessary information online. Every operation in the warehouse is carried out directly by the warehouse worker and recorded in the system. Therefore, work efficiency can be analyzed very quickly. Furthermore, the RF system allows for greater control of employees.” – informs Patryk Pająk, IT Director at Wincanton Trans European, Central and Eastern Europe.
