Virtual shopping with DPD Poland

To bring the world of online shopping closer to those who feel a bit lost among virtual shelves, the online television station Webshake – in cooperation with DPD Poland – will broadcast a 10-episode series dedicated to e-commerce. Thanks to this, viewers will learn whether online shopping is safe and how to make payments without risk. The first episode of the program starts today.

Virtual shopping with DPD Poland
The program “I pay, I don’t pay” is entirely dedicated to the subject of e-commerce. The few-minute episodes explain, among other things, how an online store functions, how to make online payments safely, and what rights internet users have when shopping online. A report by Gemius S.A. shows that over 50 percent of internet users shop in online stores. A 33 percent increase in people shopping online is expected for 2011. It is worth adding that Poland is the country with the highest growth in online sales in all of Europe.

– As one of the leading courier operators serving the e-commerce sector, we were pleased to take part in a project educating the market on the safety of online shopping. The number of e-commerce stores is hovering around 10,000 and is still growing. The number of internet users regularly shopping online is also increasing. Despite such dynamic development of this sector, many people still feel uncertainty related to buying online – says Maciej Głowacki, Sales and Marketing Director at DPD Poland. – Cooperation with Webshake television was therefore not only a very interesting experience and great fun, but above all a way to show viewers how to safely navigate the world of virtual shopping – he adds.

The fear of shopping online is related, among other things, to the fact that buyers are afraid that by making an online transfer, they are permanently giving the seller access to their bank account.

– Many internet users also do not know how to assert their rights on the internet – says Dominik Szarek, co-founder of Webshake and co-creator of the “I pay, I don’t pay” program. – Logistical processes related to online sales are completely unknown to most buyers. Just like the security rules that guarantee the success of online transactions. We often do not know where to look for instructions and how to navigate the world of e-commerce. Even if we find some tips, they are often too complicated to facilitate online shopping. Our goal is to provide viewers with knowledge on how to avoid unpleasant surprises, but also to show that e-commerce can be simple, can be a lot of fun, and allows you to save time. We wanted the material to have a light, friendly, and dynamic form. I think we managed to fully achieve our goal.
