TNT Express has signed a two-year contract with Volvo. The agreement concerns the provision of transport services from the automotive giant’s newly built Regional Spare Parts Distribution Center in Dubai.
The distribution center supplies spare parts to dealers and distributors of Volvo and Mack brand trucks, as well as Volvo buses and construction equipment in 17 countries across the Middle East and Africa. TNT will be responsible for transporting over 1.1 million kg of spare parts annually from the Volvo distribution center. To transport approximately 90 percent of the cargo, the company will utilize the Middle East Road Network, which is strategic for TNT.
Next year, TNT plans to launch additional road transshipment centers in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia, as well as expand road connections in Kuwait, which will increase the capabilities of the Middle East Road Network. TNT’s activities are focused on dynamic growth in the region and better penetration of Persian Gulf markets over the next five years.
