The time for hybrids in warehouse technology is coming

The RX 70 HYBRID begins a new era in terms of ecology and economic efficiency. The new forklift from STILL, thanks to the use of two types of drives – diesel and electric – and energy storage technology, allows for significant fuel savings and a reduction in CO2 emissions.

The time for hybrids in warehouse technology is coming

The RX 70 HYBRID is the world’s first mass-produced hybrid forklift, available in two load capacity classes: 3 and 3.5 tons. It was built on the basis of the RX 70 truck, which until now was the most economical truck in its group. The hybrid technology from STILL is based on recovering and storing energy released during braking, which is then used to restart the truck. Thanks to this, the RX 70 HYBRID allows for fuel savings of up to 15%. When using the machine for 1500 operating hours per year, the additional costs incurred for the purchase of the hybrid truck pay for themselves in less than two years. The RX 70 HYBRID has versatile applications in horizontal transport. Its compact dimensions work perfectly in narrow warehouse aisles and when unloading containers. Like other forklifts in the STILL fleet, the RX 70 HYBRID has been designed to maximize ergonomics and user comfort. It is extremely maneuverable and stable, and provides excellent visibility. For the operator’s convenience, the spacious, high-positioned cabin is equipped with, among other things, wipers, a CD player, and a rear window heater. Daily work is also facilitated by the FleetManager operation control system, cruise control, and mast and turning monitoring systems. Ecology, optimal resource management, and versatility are the main hallmarks of the RX 70 HYBRID.
