The first cross-dock in Ukraine

Raben Ukraine has opened the first professional cross-docking warehouse in Ukraine with an area of 5,400 sq. m.

– In the world of logistics, cross-docking is not a new concept – says Andrzej Kozłowski, Director of Raben Ukraine. – In the Raben Group, it has been used for many years. However, on the Ukrainian market, no company has had a professional transshipment terminal until now, so our warehouse is the first specialized cross-dock that uses the latest global achievements in this field. The new terminal has 5,400 sq. m. of warehouse space and 51 ramps. For every 106 sq. m., there is one loading and unloading ramp. This is a very good indicator that shows how effectively the space is used, even in light of global standards.

Furthermore, an architecturally interesting element is the huge glass roof that allows for working in daylight.

– Until now, a part of our main warehouse was intended for cross-docking operations. Now we have moved these operations to a new, professional transshipment warehouse. As a result, this has increased the daily shipment turnover by 80 percent. Like the rest of the Raben Group’s warehouse facilities, this one is also monitored 24 hours a day, equipped with CCTV and scanning systems. Of course, without this, transshipment operations would be impossible – adds Andrzej Kozłowski.

The opening of the first professional transshipment warehouse in Ukraine is undoubtedly perceived as a sign of the maturity of the logistics market in this country.
