The logistics market in Poland has been undergoing accelerated development in recent years. This has been particularly visible since last year, following Poland’s accession to the EU. The globally growing market is also tempting for many European and global operators. It is worth noting that the potential of the TSL market, currently amounting to approx. PLN 7.5 billion in Poland, is significantly larger than, for example, the CEP market (courier, express, parcel services), amounting to PLN 1.6 billion, and larger than the letter mail market with a potential of approx. PLN 3.3 billion. However, the letter mail market will certainly become the subject of interest for many multinational private operators in the coming years due to its liberalization, which will be fully completed in 2009 – both in Poland and in practically all EU countries. Therefore, one should expect attempts to redefine the market and reformulate the missions of many companies that will compete with Poczta Polska in these markets. The letter mail market will perhaps be “absorbed” into the area of the CEP or TSL market.
At the same time, however, a too broad approach to the market also hides many dangers. This article discusses a few of them.
The article comes from the magazine “Logistyka” No. 3/2005.
