Enterprise strategy and eSCM
By the end of 2001, the developing electronic economy covered
– supporting the company’s main off-line activities with actions carried out on the Internet. In this case, the use of the Internet allows for obtaining specific advantages, but it is not an essential element for the company’s operation
– focusing on new opportunities provided by the Internet and moving the company’s activities to the network. Off-line activity is then only a support and supplement to the company’s basic activities. In this case, the company’s operation without the use of the Internet would be impossible. The progressive development of Internet technologies and the increase in the number of companies and private individuals using Internet access forces an increasing number of companies to change their business model. An analysis of the history of a number of companies currently operating on the Internet shows that we rarely deal with revolutionary changes. The standard strategy for Polish enterprises is becoming an evolutionary transition towards solutions based on the use of the Internet, supporting non-Internet activities. The result of this is the clear popularity of the first direction of e-strategy.
