Solaris has delivered buses to Mallorca

Solaris Bus & Coach S.A. has completed another order in Spain. At the beginning of the month, three Solaris airport-version buses began operating between the terminal and aircraft at airports in Lleida (halfway between Zaragoza and Barcelona) and Palma de Mallorca (Mallorca).

Solaris has delivered buses to Mallorca

The buses were purchased by Air-Rail S.L., a company that supplies equipment and machinery for airports, ports, and railway stations. One of the company’s main clients is the airline Ryanair. The ordered buses are Solaris Urbino 12 in the airport version. The vehicles feature, among other things, five pairs of doors located on both sides of the bus. These facilitate quick passenger boarding and alighting. Inside the vehicle, there are special shelves and storage areas for carry-on luggage. One of the buses handles passenger traffic at the Lleida airport, and two are in the capital of Mallorca, Palma. This is the second contract for Solaris in this market. Last year, Solaris sold its first bus to Spain, which was a Solaris Alpino 8.9 LE, for the town of Girona near Barcelona. The airport Urbino models appeared in the offer of the manufacturer near Poznań in 2004. Their first recipient was Warsaw Airport Service, operating at the capital’s Okęcie airport. They can also be seen, among other places, at airports in Bydgoszcz, Hamburg, Łódź, Ostrava, and Riga.
