SENTE – from online stores to ERP systems

Wrocław-based company SENTE Systemy Informatyczne, a creator and provider of ERP systems on the Polish market, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Although the beginnings were not easy, today over 70 trading, manufacturing, and service companies successfully use its proprietary application, SENTE eSystem.

SENTE - from online stores to ERP systems

The company’s beginnings stemmed from the passion, knowledge, and experience related to modern information technologies shared by four friends: Daniel Urban, currently the President of the Management Board; Jakub Czyżkowski, a member of the Board; Marcin Smereka, now the Director of the Software Development Department; and Grzegorz Prokopski, who is no longer with the company. The founders were favored by the time of the massive expansion of the Internet in Poland, which occurred at the turn of 2000 and 2001. During this time, among other things, B2C online stores and B2B websites began to emerge, in which they saw a business opportunity. As early as 2001, they undertook active commercial operations and began searching for new clients, which resulted in the development of software supporting sales and distribution management for the companies Polger and Meteor. This formed the basis for the company’s future proprietary software. At the same time, potential clients increasingly reported the need for the implementation of systems for warehousing and invoicing, among other things.

– This experience taught us that enterprises need a full ERP system that will facilitate their management of both areas in the company, and also how important it is to comprehensively meet their information needs. We have remained faithful to this principle to this day – says Daniel Urban, President of the Management Board of the company.

After years of experience, the integrated SENTE eSystem application was developed, which currently supports enterprise management in the areas of logistics, finance and accounting, personnel, CRM (customer relations), production, WMS (warehouse management system), document circulation and workflow, and e-commerce. Currently, over seventy medium and large enterprises, mainly from the trading, manufacturing, and service sectors, use this software. The company is currently working on version 3.0 of the software. Both the company and its flagship product are awarded by independent economic institutions, including the Wrocław Chamber of Commerce and Microsoft, which in 2008 awarded the WMS software the title of Application of the Year for the best computer program supporting the management of small and medium-sized enterprises. In 2009, BRE Bank distinguished the company with a silver certificate for compliance in the scope of mutual data exchange between the SENTE eSystem application and its electronic banking systems.
