Schenker ranked first in the “Rzeczpospolita” ranking of transport, forwarding, and logistics companies, with revenue reaching 701 million PLN.
The ranking, as every year, was published in the LTS supplement issued by “Rzeczpospolita”. The material, prepared under the direction of Prof. Halina Brdulak, Head of the Department of International Transport and Logistics at the World Economy College of the Warsaw School of Economics, aims to analyze the TSL (Transport-Forwarding-Logistics) industry against the backdrop of the Polish economy. The ranking is based on surveys voluntarily completed by companies, which were previously posted on the “Rzeczpospolita” website. In addition to revenue, other areas are analyzed, such as revenue dynamics, number of employees, comprehensiveness of services, modern IT solutions, and safety.
In the case of Schenker, the basis for indicating the level and dynamics of revenue, profit, and employment was the sum of these figures for the companies: Spedpol Sp. z o.o. and Schenker Sp. z o.o., which were integrated in December 2004.
As the author of the ranking states, the growth dynamics of the TSL market significantly exceed the GDP growth dynamics. It is predicted that this trend will continue in the future. However, a significant advantage will be gained by logistics operators who can offer IT-integrated and developed supply networks. Prof. H. Brdulak points out the need for logistics operators to expand their competencies to include production activities (co-packing and co-manufacturing) and to take on the role of an intermediary (wholesaler) in supply chains.
