During the Jacek Kuroń Award Gala, Schenker received a distinction from the Federation of Polish Food Banks for its support of the Warmia-Masuria Food Bank.
For the third time, the Food Banks have presented awards to cooperating companies and organizations. This year, the awards are named after Jacek Kuroń, co-founder of the first Food Bank in Poland. The ceremonial meeting took place at the beginning of April at the Porczyński Gallery in Warsaw.
The Federation presented awards in three categories: large, medium, and small enterprises from the food industry and other sectors. The distinction for Schenker in the large enterprise category was a token of gratitude for the support that Schenker provides to the Warmia-Masuria Food Bank. The company has been cooperating with the Food Banks since February 2001, transporting food from donors across the country free of charge. The recipients of the donated goods are local government organizations, which then distribute them to those most in need.
