While preparing the timetable, PKP Intercity took into account the renovation and modernization works carried out on the railway network by the infrastructure manager – PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe. From December 11, 2011, the carrier will offer its passengers, among other things, faster connections to Poznań and the Tri-City, more seasonal connections to tourist destinations, and a new Twoje Linie Kolejowe (TLK) train to Sandomierz. PKP Intercity has also announced the return of names for TLK trains and the expansion of the Last Minute offer by 24 new trains and sections.
The implementation of the new timetable is accompanied by an information campaign aimed at passengers. Information regarding the timetable is available on the carrier’s website www.intercity.pl and at railway stations. People without Internet access can obtain information by calling the Nationwide Railway Hotline at 19 757 (for TP S.A. subscribers), (22 / 42) 19 436 (for subscribers of all operators), or 42 20 55 007 (from mobile phones).
In the coming days, PKP Intercity will launch additional information points at the largest railway stations – information windows, stationary points, and mobile information assistants. The points will appear at stations in, among others, Poznań, Warsaw, Lublin, and Krakow, and will also operate before Christmas. At selected stations, e.g., in Wrocław, information about train traffic will be provided by mobile company employees wearing vests with the IC logo.
7 days before the timetable comes into effect, posters with the new schedule appeared in designated places at stations, so PKP Intercity kindly requests that passengers pay attention to the validity dates of the timetable. Also in December, the carrier will prepare and distribute over 200,000 leaflets with train timetables for the 15 most popular railway routes in Poland.
Due to the fact that train traffic on the transition night, from December 10 to 11, 2011, will be conducted according to the current timetable until 00:00, and according to the new timetable from 00:01, all those traveling at that time should carefully check the timetable for their specific train.
