Over 500 logisticians from Poland and Europe are taking part in the proceedings of the Polish Logistics Congress LOGISTICS 2006, which is being held from May 10-12 in Poznań.
Modern logistics solutions, such as the Electronic Product Code, transnational certificates and professional standards, the role of logisticians in the European Union, and in creating the Union’s competitive advantage in the global market – these are just some of the topics of the two-day proceedings.
The Polish Logistics Congress LOGISTICS 2006 is not just about conference sessions, however. It also includes thematic workshops, technical visits to leading companies in the region, such as Nivea Polska SA, Kompania Piwowarska SA, DHL Polska, or Volkswagen Polska, as well as a logistics trade fair held in parallel.
– The biggest challenge for modern logistics is the people themselves – their mobility, skills, and ability to adapt – believes Graham Ewer, President of the European Logistics Association (ELA) and a special guest of the Polish Logistics Congress LOGISTICS 2006.
– It is logisticians who will play a major role in building the European Union’s competitiveness in the global market – adds Bogusław Liberadzki, another guest of LOGISTICS 2006, Head of the Department of Transport at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH), and Member of the European Parliament.
Plenary sessions will also be led by Chris Adcock, President of EPCGlobal, a company working on the Electronic Product Code, and Prof. Hans-Christian Pfohl from TU Darmstadt, a member of the ELA board.
