– After intensive work on increasing wagon resources – repairs and investments in their modernization, an important task is to maintain the required number of operational locomotives. Currently, we have a small surplus of locomotives for 160 km/h and above. Hence the decision to announce a tender for the repair of the ‘sevens’ – states Janusz Malinowski, CEO of PKP Intercity.
PKP Intercity SA has 308 EU/EP07 series locomotives at its disposal. They are classified as standard-gauge universal/passenger electric locomotives produced in Poland between 1965 and 1992. The first EU07 traction vehicles were built under license from English locomotives, designated in Poland as EU06.
