One of the largest integrations on the Czech logistics market this year has been completed

On May 1, 2012, the integration process of logistics operators Raben Logistics Czech a.s., Transkam-Logistik, spol. s r.o., and Raben Trans European Czech s.r.o. (formerly Wincanton Czech Republic s.r.o.) was completed. The merged companies have formed a single entity that ranks among the largest logistics service providers in the country. The new company operates under the name Raben Logistics Czech s.r.o.

– We learn from our experiences, and before we decide to acquire a company, we take many aspects into account – product fit, organizational culture, market position, profitability, and management style. The integration of companies is a key process. Only after achieving the standards applicable in our Group are we ready for further organic growth – explains Ewald Raben, CEO of the Group.

Raben Group entered the Czech market in 2008 by purchasing a 60% stake in the logistics operator Setto, which had been operating in the Czech and Slovak markets since 1990. In 2009, the Group acquired the remaining 40% of shares and became the sole owner of the company. Subsequently, in 2010, the company purchased Transkam, one of the leading enterprises offering logistics services for food products in the Czech and Slovak markets. The final stage was the acquisition of Wincanton, which took place not only in the Czech Republic but also in Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, and Germany, where the road distribution network was acquired as part of this transaction.
The new company, Raben Logistics Czech s.r.o., has over 70,000 sqm of modern warehouse space, and its branches are located in Hořovice, Hostivice, Kralupy nad Vltavou, Jažlovice, Hradešín, Hradec Králové, Brno, Olomouc, and Ostrava.

– The merger is not just a formal combination of three Czech companies belonging to the Raben Group, but also more efficient operations, mainly due to a larger number of branches, regular domestic and international connections, and the sharing of knowledge and experience. Now our customers will have access to a full range of services at a European level – says Roman Macháček, General Manager of Raben Logistics Czech and Raben Logistics Slovakia.
