Polish e-business has finally entered a phase of mature development. The number of commercial transactions carried out using electronic tools grew very dynamically in 2006, as did the number of available e-services provided within the information society. The positive changes achieved last year are a major step forward on the path to improving the living conditions of Poles and the economic results of our economy. However, an uneven development of individual segments of this industry is still visible, which negatively affects the overall stability of development. A thorough analysis and detailed research results on this issue, conducted by the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing, have been published in the latest, fifth edition of the “Electronic Economy in Poland” report. The report, prepared on behalf of the Ministry of Economy, constitutes the best – and above all – the most up-to-date source of knowledge about the e-economy in our country, the potential that Poland possesses, and the development needs, the fulfillment of which is still a matter of the coming years.
