Over 4,000 exhibitors from 70 countries are participating in the CEBIT 2013 global trade fair for new technologies from March 5th to 9th. A novelty at this year’s CEBIT is a comprehensive presentation of the potential of IT solutions for the public sector.
At the CEBIT trade fair, there is no shortage of IT solutions supporting logistics. The most spectacular trade fair offer in this area is presented by the German company PSI, promoting software for production logistics. On the third day of the fair, the conferences “Logistics of the Future” and “Industrial Automation” are also enjoying great interest. The main theme of both meetings was the implementation of RFID technology in various areas.
An important topic of the fair is also design – in one of the pavilions, a special exhibition of products created in leading design studios around the world and being implemented for mass production has been organized.
This year, the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing also marked its presence in Hanover. Representatives of the ILiM are showcasing the mConsumer research project, which was carried out last year in cooperation with AMS, Transferuj.pl, and the “Piotr i Paweł” chain. Trade fair guests visiting the ILiM stand can scan codes from a bus stop, get acquainted with the Rockpay mobile application, and win prizes after the demonstration. The idea of the mobile consumer appealed to guests from all over the world. The ILiM stand was visited by, among others, representatives of companies from Estonia, Dubai, Russia, and representatives of German technology media.
