The GX series is designed for storing and retrieving loads in narrow-aisle warehouses. It is used in retail, logistics, and manufacturing plants. The operator’s station is located at the bottom, making the GX an economical alternative to trucks with a platform that lifts along with the operator. The GX series is powered by 48-volt three-phase current. The vehicles are equipped with swivel-reach forks (GX-X), telescopic forks (GX-Q), or optionally swivel-reach forks with an additional lifting range. The modular concept of the new STILL GX truck series allows for individual adjustment of performance and dimensions to customer needs. The offer includes trucks with telescopic or triple masts with heights from 2.2 to 4.9 meters. The stable mast profiles have very low lateral and forward bending, and vibrations are reduced to a minimum. The operator is provided with excellent visibility of the fork tips, making loading and unloading faster and safer. The workstation is driver-friendly. A novelty in vehicles of this class is the optional suspension, not only of the seat but of the entire station. The hydraulic suspension used reduces vibrations transmitted to the human body to a minimum. They are up to 60% lower than the maximum permissible value. A comfortable seat with lumbar support and an adjustable backrest can be adjusted to the operator’s height and weight. A workstation prepared in this way prevents musculoskeletal disorders and provides even better protection for the back and spine.
– Operating the truck is logical and intuitive: a high-contrast LCD display allows for easy reading, and the joystick fits perfectly in the operator’s hand – explains Marcin Nazaruk, sales consultant at STILL – All hydraulic functions can be operated with one hand, while the forearm rests comfortably on the upholstered armrest. A comfortable hand position increases the precision and safety of lifting, lowering, and rotating the forks. The feet have also been taken care of: the control set includes a drive pedal, a brake, and a large foot-operated safety switch used to activate the vehicle.
There is also a choice of battery capacity. Depending on the chassis width (1.12 m or 1.25 m), six batteries with different capacities are available. Battery replacement can be faster and safer thanks to the possibility of side replacement using a roller conveyor and a stand – there is no need to use a crane in this case. The new STILL GX series vehicles use the OPTISPEED concept, which allows for automatic adjustment of all speeds depending on the load and lifting height. This means increased economy and driving safety. Among trucks with a lower operator station, the GX series offers the highest handling performance. The vehicle reaches a speed of 10.5 km/h. The GX L1 models, with a length of 2.935 m, are the shortest and most maneuverable of all reach trucks on the market. The small turning radius allows for better use of warehouse space (the maneuvering width is only 3.202 m). The electric control system of the GX trucks is protected against failure by the use of a dual processor. All components are easily accessible for service maintenance. It is possible to fold the operator’s seat. The wheel covers are stable and protect against sudden impacts that may occur during daily intensive work. STILL also offers additional equipment options: MMS – Material Flow Management System, FleetManager, positioning aids, visual monitoring system, and personal protection installation (PSA).
