The new line serves the DCT Gdansk – Baltiysk route with two calls per week in Gdansk (Tuesday and Thursday). Unifeeder vessels had previously called at DCT Gdansk several times, transporting containers for other shipping lines. The new connection is operated by the mv “Gerda” (with a capacity of 508 TEU), while from the new year, it is planned to be replaced by a larger vessel. The newly launched regular line from Gdansk to Baltiysk is related to the delivery of automotive parts from Poland to Russia in cooperation with Rohlig Suus Logistics. The DCT Gdansk terminal also handles regular connections for the following lines:
– Containerships:
Rotterdam – Helsinki – DCT Gdansk – Teesport – Rotterdam;
Teesport – Ghent – DCT Gdansk – St. Petersburg – Helsinki – Hamburg;
– Maersk Line:
Bremerhaven – DCT Gdansk – Bremerhaven;
– Team Lines:
DCT Gdansk – Hamburg/Bremerhaven;
– IMCL/BCL:
Klaipeda – DCT Gdansk – Szczecin – Rotterdam;
DCT Gdansk – Hamburg/Bremerhaven
Global container operators such as Hapag-Lloyd, NYK, Cosco, China Shipping, ZIM, Hyundai, MOL, Hamburg Sud, K-Line, UASC, or Evergreen accept DCT Gdansk as a transshipment terminal for their containers, using the services of the aforementioned feeder lines. The DCT Gdansk terminal offers year-round, ice-free access with a maximum depth of 16.5 m at the quay for calling vessels, thus providing excellent conditions for establishing a Baltic “hub” port for this region of the Baltic Sea. Three post-Panamax cranes are capable of handling container ships with up to 18 rows of containers on deck. The terminal also offers a berth for “ro-ro” type vessels. The one-kilometer-long railway siding at DCT Gdansk is located in the vicinity of the transshipment quay and the main logistics and distribution center, which is currently in the planning phase. All of this makes the DCT Gdansk terminal an ideal “gateway” to the Polish market as well as Central and Eastern Europe. DCT Gdansk SA is a company registered in Poland. It is majority-owned by GIF II (Global Infrastructure Fund II), a special fund managed by the Macquarie Group of Companies, headquartered in Australia.
