The warehouse area of the new branch in Poznań will be almost twice as large as the current warehouse and will amount to approx. 6,400 sq m. The company’s need for more operational space is related to the new facility serving as a sorting center for the north-western region of Poland, and it also testifies to the increased volume of shipments in this area. The city of Poznań ranks second in the DPD Polska national network in terms of the number of handled parcels, approx. 9.5 thousand per day.
The new DPD branch will be located in the vicinity of the A2 motorway and national road No. 5. In the future, the construction of a western frame is planned in the vicinity of the facility, which will connect the motorway with the exit route to the north. The favorable location, near major transport hubs, will contribute to shortening the arrival times of linehaul trucks (night connection network) to the sorting center from all over Poland.
The cost of equipping the facility is 800 thousand euros, of which 300 thousand euros is allocated for a new automatic conveyor, supporting the parcel sorting process. The branch will have 13 ramps and 40 courier gates. Thanks to the greater operational capabilities of the new facility, an increase in the volume of outgoing and incoming parcels is expected.
