We encourage everyone who wants to learn the secrets of freight forwarding, find out how to avoid mistakes when using a forwarder’s services, or, as a forwarder, avoid alienating a client through a lack of professionalism, to read the new book from the Polish Transport Publishing House, “Freight Forwarding in Practice – 21st Century,” authored by Piotr M. Sikorski.
The book differs slightly from “Freight Forwarding in Practice,” published two years ago. It is updated, and some chapters have been completely rewritten. It contains descriptions of Incoterms and Combiterms, a presentation of the forwarding process, information on land, sea, and air freight, as well as a characterization of the market and the forwarding industry. The author delves into trade fair forwarding and warehousing. He presents issues related to the construction and comparison of offers. The reader also learns why it is worth using outsourcing in the forwarding industry. The whole is complemented by customs issues, legal acts, and a forwarder’s lexicon. A practical appendix contains tips helpful for filling out consignment notes and identifying EUR pallets.
– The topic addressed by the author is current, I consider the preparation of the book to be entirely justified, and the undertaking of the task of writing this study by a person who has been participating in the functioning of the TSL (transport – forwarding – logistics) sector for many years is most deserving of recognition – believes Prof. Dr. Hab. Wojciech Paprocki from the Warsaw School of Economics.
The book is recommended by the ProLogistyka Association.
