The Institute of Logistics and Warehousing invites you to participate in the global MobileCom Day on June 29th. Open webinars, lectures, and presentations will allow for a closer look at new consumer trends as well as an exchange of views related to the developing mobile telephony industry.
For the second time, the Poznań-based Institute of Logistics and Warehousing – GS1 Poland is organizing MobileCom Day in our country and participating in a global initiative launched by the GS1 organization. The dynamic development of the Internet and mobile technologies has facilitated access to product information. However, consumers are looking for current and reliable information. The answer to such needs are mobile applications that allow scanning a GS1 barcode and checking, among other things, the lowest price, opinions of other users, nutritional content, allergens, as well as finding the nearest store where a given product is offered.
The Institute of Logistics and Warehousing, acting as the national GS1 Poland organization implementing barcodes into economic practice, together with other organizations from Europe, is developing product description standards for e-commerce solutions and mobile applications, and is working on a data exchange mechanism between European Union countries. The e-commerce and mobile solutions sector has great potential, and Poland is already the fifth largest electronic sales market in the EU. According to Internet Standard data, over 2 million Poles use mobile devices running on iOS and Android systems.
MobileCom Day is a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences for all market representatives – manufacturers, distributors, application and solution providers interested in building reference sources of product information.
