Thanks to this, the Solaris fleet of low-entry (LE) buses now consists of six vehicles. Solaris is successively expanding its offer, meeting customer expectations and identifying new market opportunities.
The company’s latest novelty is the Solaris Urbino 18 LE CNG – the first low-entry articulated bus powered by compressed natural gas. The vehicle is powered by a Cummins ISLG EEV 320 engine with an output of 234.8 kW, meeting the EEV emission standard. Eight tanks mounted on the roof can hold a total of up to 1712 liters of gas. The prototype vehicle is equipped with the so-called Scandinavian package, which includes, among other things, additional insulation of the ceiling, side walls, and driver’s cabin, as well as an efficient heating and parking heater system. Inside, comfortable STER seats with seatbelts and headrests have been installed. The bus was created specifically for the Scandinavian markets, where such a combination of chassis and drive is particularly popular.
