Fujifilm is involved in the production of cameras, photographic processing equipment, medical and printing devices, as well as biomedical equipment. Seeking to consolidate the resources of its three warehouses in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, the Fujifilm group decided to outsource its logistics operations. Under the new agreement, warehouse resources will be concentrated in a single facility owned by Kuehne + Nagel in Chorzów, covering approximately 10,000 square meters, fully equipped and prepared to handle inbound and outbound cargo, storage, pick & pack processes, and inventory management. On behalf of the Fujifilm group, Kuehne + Nagel will also be responsible for controlling warehouse processes, customs brokerage, and value-added services such as taping, labeling, and plate cutting. Special services include the logistics of high-value goods and hazardous substances, for which a separate, refrigerated warehouse of approximately 300 square meters was built for Fujifilm. To streamline communication with its client’s IT systems, Kuehne + Nagel has implemented special interfaces in its global service management system.
– We chose Kuehne + Nagel because of its strong position in Central and Eastern Europe, cost-effectiveness of services, and highly developed IT infrastructure – said Aad Goedendorp, Director of Corporate Logistics at Fujifilm Europe.
– Both the high-tech sector and the Central and Eastern European markets are strategic areas for Kuehne + Nagel. As one of the world’s largest providers of integrated logistics services, we are confident that the cooperation with Fujifilm will result in the development of both companies’ potential – stated Tobias Jerschke, Managing Director of Kuehne + Nagel Poland.
