Wincanton has offered Plastic Omnium a standtrailer service. The just-in-time system solution guarantees that loading takes from several to a dozen or so hours from the notification. The trailer is loaded directly on the Plastic Omnium production line. Wincanton is obliged to collect the full trailer and provide an empty one within 45 minutes. The process is characterized by constant fluidity. The loaded trailer must be delivered within 12 hours, regardless of the prevailing conditions. Such a process ensures an uninterrupted production cycle. Loading directly onto the production line takes place 24 hours a day. Thanks to the cooperation with the logistics operator, Plastic Omnium reaps numerous benefits. It does not have to maintain inventory in the production process because goods are loaded directly onto trailers, and deliveries go straight to the production line. Wincanton has also ensured continuity of supply through double-manned drivers. Furthermore, as part of the outsourcing of returnable packaging, the logistics operator is responsible for managing the circulation of racks – as a result, the client can focus exclusively on their core business.
