InPost Finanse, an independent financial operator from the Integer.pl Group, is strengthening its position in the cash services segment. The company has signed a contract with Western Union, a global leader in the international money transfer market, which has been operating in Poland for over 20 years. Thanks to this agreement, Western Union money transfers will be delivered directly to the customer free of charge. This is the first solution of its kind on the Polish financial services market.
The new form of delivering Western Union money transfers by InPost couriers will initially be available in the 40 largest Polish cities. In the following years, this area will be systematically expanded, which will also facilitate access to money transfers for residents of smaller towns.
– We are activating not only our operations in the postal sector. For many years, we have also been successfully developing niches in the financial services market. The synergies resulting from the operations of InPost and InPost Finanse, based on an extensive network of Customer Service Points, a multi-million customer base, and technological and logistical facilities, determine our market advantages. We are the first Western Union Agent in Poland to offer the option of delivering cash transfers directly to the recipients’ hands – announces Rafał Brzoska, CEO of InPost Finanse.
– Western Union is constantly enriching its offer, giving consumers more choice and convenience. We combine the traditional advantages of our company – a globally recognized brand and an extremely strong market position in over 200 countries and territories – with new possibilities in terms of offered services. We want to meet the needs of modern consumers who want access to a wider range of options within diverse distribution channels and technologies. Our goal is to introduce new solutions that enable the use of services offered by Western Union. Thanks to the cooperation with InPost, consumers throughout Poland will gain access to new services allowing them to send and receive money without having to leave their homes – says Konrad Olszaniecki from Western Union.
– Thanks to the cooperation between InPost Finanse and Western Union, money transfers will reach those consumers directly who would find it difficult to reach a Western Union Agency branch – adds Mariusz Dubowski, Director of Financial Services at InPost Finanse.
The agreement between InPost Finanse and Western Union, a global leader in the money transfer industry, is part of the Integer.pl Group’s strategy aimed at expanding the package of financial services available at Customer Service Points. The cooperation with Western Union assumes sending and receiving money transfers initially at 100 stationary InPost Customer Service Points. In the coming months of 2012, the company will offer a comprehensive range of Western Union cash deposit and withdrawal services.
