Stands
Stands are stationary devices with a spatial structure, intended for storing assortments that are leaned directly against structural elements. Depending on the design, the following stands are distinguished:
• post stands – characterized by structural elements in the form of vertical posts, which serve as support elements for stored long assortments, such as bars, sections, pipes, etc., loose or in bundles, preferably homogeneous between given posts, as shown for example in Figure 1.
• slot stands – characterized by a spatial structure in the form of vertical, parallel, openwork or solid frames, against which horizontal or vertical elements the stored assortments (wood-based panels, metal, plastic, or other materials) are leaned; for functional reasons, it is advisable to store homogeneous assortment in a given slot, as shown for example in Figures 2 and 3
• cell stands – characterized by a spatial structure formed from vertical openwork or solid frames, creating a closed system of cells, intended for storing specific assortments individually or in groups; it is advisable that a homogeneous assortment be stored in one cell (Figure 4)
• prism stands, single-row one-sided or double-row – characterized by a structure in the form of inclined openwork or solid frames, against which – generally – homogeneous plate assortments or packages of plate elements made of various materials are leaned (Figure 5)
• specialized stands – characterized by the structure and arrangement of support elements adapted to the physical form of the stored assortments, as shown for example in Figure 6.
Devices with a spatial structure, intended for storage by direct or indirect suspension of assortments on structural elements prepared for this purpose, are defined as hangers. Due to their design, we distinguish the following types of hangers:
• standing (floor) – free-standing devices whose design allows them to be moved or fixed to the ground at the place of installation (Figure 7)
• suspended – devices whose design requires attachment to the upper structural elements of the building (diagram shown in Figure 8)
• wall-mounted – devices whose design requires attachment to vertical structural elements of the building or another warehouse device, for example, a rack (Figure 9)
• specialized – devices characterized by a structure and arrangement of elements adapted to the physical form of the suspended assortments (Figure 10).
Various products can be stored on hangers:
– in packaging whose design allows for hanging storage,
– without packaging, if such a form of storage does not negatively affect their properties.
