Infrastructure, which has always accompanied warehouse processes, has a structure consisting of a series of interconnected and closely cooperating elements. The functional interconnection of infrastructure elements and their appropriate application influence the conditions for storing goods.
General issues
The following factors have a fundamental influence on ensuring proper storage conditions for goods in logistics supply chains:
• storage technology – a sequence of consecutive activities that must be performed to achieve specific tasks of the warehousing process
• storage technique – a system of technical means and skills in using them to perform specific work in the warehousing process; closely related to them is the appropriate infrastructure, i.e., a set of basic structures and equipment necessary for the proper functioning of the warehousing process.
