On March 20, TNT Express participated in a special test of a train carrying shipments.

The train’s payload capacity is equal to seven Boeing 737 aircraft – it can carry 120 tons of shipments. After traveling from Lyon, via Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, the train arrived at London’s St. Pancras station. The experiment is part of the Euro Carex project, which aims to promote rail transport for courier shipments. Established in 2009, the Euro Carex project combines rail and air operations, policymakers, and major air carriers. The project involves: Eurotunnel (operator of the Channel Tunnel link) and airports in Roissy, Lyon, Liege, Amsterdam, and London. Through its participation in Euro Carex, TNT Express is analyzing the benefits of multimodal transport for customers, the budget, and the environment.
